Amir until last year was the no. 7 runners up in the NABBA Mr. Universe contest. He is currently on a 3 year muscle mass enhancing sabbatical to bring home the 2010 Mr. Universe title for Pakistan. Without any support from the government or the private sector he has participated twice in the Mr. Universe competition and improved his ranking from no. 8 in 2005 (His 1st ever participation in a body building competition) to no. 7 in 2007.
